Flow
Calibration
With
fluid flow research and development is our primary mission, Flow
Matrix has invested heavily to ensure that our measurement capabilities
are the best and most accurate available. Through the implementation
of our Engineering and R&D resources, our products have some
of the broadest performance specifications among all fluid flow technologies.
We have supplemented our internal capabilities with extensive testing
by accredited laboratories. One such laboratory is Flow Dynamics
Inc., responsible for much of our accredited, third party data (visit
www.flow-dynamics.com for
more info). Below is a description of the tools used by our Research
and Development team to conduct flow measurement
studies: the Molbloc' and RPM3' Series of Secondary Flow and Pressure
Measurement.
The Molbloc' and RPM3' are a series of secondary or "transfer" calibration
monitors that measure flow and pressure, respectively. They have
some of the highest accuracy and performance specs in the flow and
pressure industry and are used for calibration by almost all high-accuracy
mass flow control technologies. For specifications on this equipment
or more information visit DH Instruments at www.dhinstruments.com.

Flow Matrix Sensor and Flow Data Acquisition Laboratory
Flow Matrix maintains a real-time flow measurement, sensor research
and data acquisition laboratory. Our internal capabilities now include
a fast time response (~10 msec) data acquisition and analysis center
which includes 16 bit DAC and signal conditioning for fast pressure
and flow transient response. Due to the extremely fast response of
our devices (<100msec), we had to ensure that our data gathering
capabilities were at least an order of magnitude faster. In addition
to our flow laboratory, we have full electronic waveform and signal
analysis capabilities for electrical sensor design and performance
characterization. The flow laboratory along with the entire facility
is capable of flowing five different gas types for various molecular
weight and viscosity calibrations and studies.
In addition to flow calibration capabilities, we also have the capability
to perform both inboard and outboard helium leak testing using a
helium mass spectrometer for the highest level of leak integrity
testing.
Flow Matrix also maintains a real-time liquid flow calibration and
research station with the same capabilities as our gas flow bench.
We utilize velocity-dependent and volumetric devices such as turbine
meters for fast time response coupled with gravimetric (weight) capabilities
for high accuracy data. In addition, we have future plans to utilize
primary calibration tools that measure fundamental units such as
mass, time, and length to calibrate all of our secondary flow standards
such as thermal mass flow meters, turbine meters, laminar flow elements
such as the Molbloc' systems, and others. We strive to maintain complete
traceability for every piece of measurement equipment to known uncertainty
values throughout our calibration chain, and to share our data with
national standards such as NIST (the National Institute of Standards
and Technology www.nist.gov ).
Our goal is to maitain the highest standards in the industry for
our products and their use in critical
processes.
